This position can be based anywhere in the UK 

The HSSE (Health, Safety, Social and Environmental) Officer will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of HSSE programs and systems across ib vogt’s EPC and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) business. This position will provide support for the overall EPC and O&M HSSE management as well as the assigned projects in accordance to fulfil local HSE- and ib vogt´s HSSE regulations.

Your Job

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental regulations, and standards including ESG requirements across ib vogt’s EPC and O&M business.
  • Developing, Implementation, and managing HSSE programs in EPC and O&M.
  • Coordinate with the EPC and O&M management team, the corporate ESG department, and corporate HSSE colleagues on implementation of the ESMS in construction and operational assets.
  • Performing Site HSSE audits/inspections as required.
  • Recording, making analysis, and reporting on HSSE metrics.
  • HSSE Qualification, assessing, and managing contractors/subcontractors.
  • Identify local occupational health & safety, social, and environmental regulations and standards in countries with ib vogt EPC and O&M activities (based on agreement with Head of EPC and O&M HSSE).  
  • Incident investigation and Route Cause Analysis management.
  • Emergency preparedness management.
  • Developing and maintaining effective and supportive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the point of escalation for local EPC and O&M HSSE issues.
  • Review of work procedures and contracts, identify needs and create and expand HSSE processes.
  • Directly support the development of globally relevant HSSE software, documentation, and standards.
  • Supervises and supports project based HSE officers assigned at Project Sites. Observes and reports on the fulfilment of legal requirements.
Your profile

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and/or O&M energy utility projects in the UK markets.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an on-site HSE Officer, HSE Manager, or HSE Supervisor.
  • Proven experience managing a group of HSE Supervisors or Officers.
  • Technical knowledge in electrical installations.
  • Experience in HSE Leadership & Management with strong conflict management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English, both written and spoken. 
  • Good team player with team-building capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing groups of people.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
Required Training
  • Professional degree in Health/Safety/Environment or Technical degree relevant to Energy and/or construction and O&M industry.                             
  • NEBOSH construction safety qualification or International general certificate in occupational health and safety.
  • Environmental certification, e.g, ISO 14001. 
  • ISO 45001 certification.
