WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for an expert in CFD to join a small CAE team within Durability and Robustness, responsible for developing leading edge CFD methods to support full vehicle multi-phase CFD wading simulations and use these methods to support all our vehicle programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Support the continual development of CFD tools and techniques which enhance our capabilities and improve the quality and robustness of our simulations. Use engineering and problem-solving skills to identify the best CAE solution for a given task or problem and develop the appropriate tools. Run Wading simulations, summarise and present results. Coordinate and lead projects including the feedback of results as required through design / project reviews.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

As a Senior CFD engineer you will need to hold a relevant formal qualification such as degree or time served apprenticeship within mechanical engineering or similar. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Thorough knowledge and experience of CFD (Using STAR-CCM or similar software) Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges. Previous experience of full vehicle and system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targets. Experience in working practices relating to CAE methods and processes. Competent in the use of Programming Languages or scripting (Fortran, C++, Java, Python or similar) Previous experience of supporting engineering or analytical projects Project and people management skills.
