Technical Assurance Manager – Internal only
 
We are looking for a Technical Assurance Manager to work in the Align JV on the C1 Section of HS2. This role focuses on implementing, managing and maintaining the Technical Certification Management Process within Align to ensure that the project is closed out in line with the Works Information Requirements.
You’ll also manage a small team of design coordinators, and will be responsible for defining the objectives and outcomes of that team, as well as identifying and recruiting further capabilities and resources required as the handover process evolves.
 
About our role: 
 
 
·        Being Responsible for the overall Management of the Technical Assurance Certification (CL3) proceed
·        Collaborate with other Align Functions (Quality, Production) and HS2 and Align-D functions to ensure close out of technical issues arising from construction
·        Be the Align Point of Contact for Technical Assurance related Topic
·        Manage the Defect processes ensuring commercial and technical implementation of such defects as are necessary under the NEC contract.
·        Manage the Technical Assurance Team, ensuring it is appropriately resourced and fit for purpose.
·        Working with Other Align Functions to Ensure that the CL3 process is integrated with all other aspects of Handover (e.g. Land transfer, Rail systems interface, Contract Completion etc.) 
·        Working closely and proactively with ALIGN-D and all ALIGN teams during delivery to minimise the work required at handover
·        Liaising with the programming and project controls departments to ensure efficient and accurate reporting of the handover process
 
    
 
    

About you - Skills & Experience
  • Previous demonstrable experience within a similar role within an appropriately sized engineering organisation or design consultancy.
  • Educated to engineering degree or higher level or equivalent in engineering, typically structural or tunnelling engineering, or a demonstrable work history
  • Previous experience working on tunnels, underground structures or heavy civil engineering is required.
  • Fantastic Project Management skills, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects at any given time.
  • Assertive, self-starter with the ability to work efficiently and respond quickly to issues raised or work required.
  • Strong relationship building capability, with the ability to manage expectations and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Resilient, with the ability to challenge stakeholders whilst still taking in to consideration their view point.  
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office packages particularly Outlook, Powerpoint and Word.
