Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Legal Cashier to join our Finance Team at our Head Office based in Blackburn. This is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday- Friday, based at our Rutherford House Office.

The Legal Cashier responsibilities will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:

  • Undertaking daily banking functions;
  • Preparing online electronic bank transfers, CHAPS, BACS and Faster;
  • Bank Reconciliation - Client & Business accounts;
  • Client ledger reconciliations;
  • Administration of petty cash;
  • Processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings;
  • Processing client to office transfers;
  • Complying with SRA rules;
  • Month End SRA Compliance Folder;
  • Answer internal and external accounts queries;

Applying

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following the knowledge, experience and skills:

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Legal Cashier;
  • Excellent numeracy skills;
  • Attention to detail and be able to work effectively, prioritising tasks by importance of completion in order to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems, Microsoft Office, word, excel;
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, providing cover where necessary;

Desirable

  • Knowledge of accounting processes;
  • Experience working as a legal cashier with knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules;
  • Previous experience of a case management system, preferably Partner for Windows;
  • Experience of identifying areas for improvement and implementing change;
