Our 2024 Summer School will operate from 7th July to 18th August

Felsted is a leading day and boarding independent school based in a stunning village campus in North Essex. Founded in 1564 by Richard Lord Riche, who had been a Lord Chancellor under King Edward VI.

We celebrated our 450th anniversary in 2014, one of only a handful of Schools in the country that have claimed this historic milestone. We employ more than 160 teachers and 440 operational staff in a community orientated environment, ensuring our pupils receive the very best in learning and co-curricular activities. Felsted today provides an exceptional holistic education to approximately 1100 students aged four to eighteen.

We are excited to be running our tenth on-site Summer School in 2024. Operating during the School Summer Holidays for six weeks, the programme offers students a wide range of academic, sporting and cultural opportunities for c500 students aged 8-17 from every corner of the world. To run our successful and well-established programme, we need creative, enthusiastic and well qualified staff to work with us.

A passionate nurse is required to support our 2024 International Summer School programme. The Nurse will promote and provide a clinically effective, high-quality service of nursing care to our students during Summer School.

Felsted has its own Medical Centre situated within the School community between the Junior and Senior programmes where this role will be located. The Summer School Nurse will be expected to provide a holistic approach to the care to our students, assess and treat illness or injury (or refer to an appropriate agency) and pro-actively manage effective health promotion.

The successful applicant must be a registered general nurse (RGN) or (preferably) paediatric trained, together with a valid First Aid at Work certificate and Full UK/EEA driving licence. It is essential that the appointee has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude towards customer service with the ability to show empathy and understanding of children’s development and needs.

This is a full time, fixed-term role between 7th July and 18th August 2024 with inductions being held from 4th to 6th July. The role will require the appointee to be residential for the duration of Summer School (full boarding and meals provided).

We will be recruiting for this role on an ongoing basis. Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to close the role prior to the advertised closing date of 15 June if the role is successfully filled earlier than this. Initial interviews will be held online.
