We are looking for a streetworks Coordinatorto join our Team in Luton.As a Streetworks Coordinator you willplay a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating streetworksactivities
ensuring compliance with regulatoryrequirements and facilitating efficient project execution. You willliaise with
internal teams external stakeholders andregulatory authorities to ensure smooth coordination of works and
minimize disruption to road users andresidents.
Resposibilities
- Coordinatestreetworks activities including roadworks excavationsinstallations and repairs in accordance with statutory requirementspermits and regulations (e.g. NRSWATMA).
- Liaise with local authorities utilitiescompanies contractors and other stakeholders to obtain necessarypermits approvals and permissions for streetworksoperations.
- Schedule and plan streetworksactivities allocating resources equipment and personnel to meetproject requirements and deadlines.
- Manage theprocess of applying for and obtaining streetworks permits noticingworks and coordinating with regulatory authorities to ensurecompliance with permit conditions andrestrictions.
- Maintain accurate records ofpermit applications approvals rejections and modifications andtrack the status of permits throughout the duration ofworks.
- Coordinate with contractors andsupervisors to ensure timely submission of permit applications andadherence to permit conditions duringworks.
- Coordinate traffic managementarrangements including temporary road closures lane closures anddiversions in collaboration with traffic management companies andregulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance withtraffic management plans safety measures and signage requirementsto minimize disruption to road users pedestrians andresidents.
- Monitor streetworks sites forcompliance with health and safety regulations risk assessments andsafe working practices and take corrective actions asnecessary.
- Communicate with internal teamscontractors and stakeholders to provide updates on streetworksactivities project progress and potential impacts on localcommunities.
- Respond to inquiries complaintsand requests for information from stakeholders regardingstreetworks operations providing accurate and timely updates andresolutions.
- Coordinate with local residentsbusinesses and community groups to minimize disruption addressconcerns and provide information about planned works andschedules.
- Maintain comprehensive recordsdocumentation and reports related to streetworks activitiesincluding permit applications works notices inspection reports andincident records.
- Prepare regular progressreports performance metrics and compliance documentation to monitorand evaluate streetworks performance and adherence to regulatoryrequirements.
- Assist in the preparation ofpostproject evaluations lessons learned reports and recommendationsfor process improvements and bestpractices.
Skills&Experience
- Relevantexperience in streetworks coordination highway maintenance orproject management preferably in the construction or utilitiessector.
- Strong understanding of streetworkslegislation regulations and codes of practice including NRSWA TMAand associated guidance documents.
- Excellentorganizational communication and interpersonal skills with theability to liaise effectively with internal and externalstakeholders.
- Proficiency in project managementsoftware GIS tools and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. ExcelWord Outlook).
- Knowledge of traffic managementprinciples safety regulations and environmental considerationsrelated to streetworks operations.
- Ability towork well under pressure prioritize tasks and manage multipleprojects simultaneously.
- Valid driving licenseand willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings asrequired.
