What you will do:

An apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore your potential and you’ll enjoy full support from the team. You will be required to ensure that you adhere to safe working practices and also be able to take instructions and act upon them in a prompt and professional manner.

In this unique role, you will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience, including working alongside our qualified engineer in a site-based environment. You will gain experience in mechanical pump engineering and heavy pump exposure on site. The role involves fault finding across all disciplines - mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic on diesel & electric fire pump sets. The role encompasses all aspects of engineering, including commissioning, service, installation, and fault findings. As part of this role, you will also work with our warehouse manager on refurbishing pump projects. With onsite training and upskilling, you will eventually lead these projects. Although this role involves a large amount of site-based work, it also requires managing shipments of goods from suppliers, ordering parts to complete projects, receiving goods, checking deliveries, and ordering goods in the warehouse. Provide excellent Customer Service to meet the expectations and requirements of both the internal and external customers, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.

How you will do it:

On-the-Job Work Experience: You'll spend significant time at our client sites, where you will get the opportunity to put into practice skills learned at college in a real world setting. Collaboration with Qualified Engineers: Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll work closely with qualified Johnson Controls Engineers who will serve as mentors, guiding you in developing your design skills. This collaborative environment ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in your role. You will be enrolled on a Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship that you will study alongside your new role. You’ll enjoy the full support of your mentor and our dedicated apprentice training team. Opportunities for Growth: Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to grow and apply the skills and knowledge gained in college in a real workplace setting. This experiential learning approach ensures that you develop both technical competencies and practical skills essential for success in the world of design engineering.
