ASD Class Teacher

Location: Croydon, Greater London 

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent 

Salary: Paid to Scale (M1 to UPS & SEN allowance) 

Start Date: As soon as possible

Teaching Personnel is working alongside a fabulous special education school in Croydon who are seeking an experienced KS1 ASD Teacher to join their team 

We are currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated ASD Class Teacher who has experience in either an MLD or SLD learning environment. 

The school is a warm and welcoming learning environment who pride themselves on being 'one big happy family' and are seeking a member of staff who fits in with this. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a creative classroom teacher with a real passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate learning and development alongside other members of teaching staff, SLT, medical and therapy staff. 
  • Have a positive and uplifting attitude about pupil's abilities. 

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS, a PGCE or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in schools. 
  • Have a thorough understanding of SEN (ASD, MLD and SLD) 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning environments and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Right to work in the UK 
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
