Job summary

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Estates CAD Technician within the Estates and Development team. Are you looking for a career opportunity that provides the right balance between development and workplace responsibilities?

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out updates of all Estates "as built" CAD files for all Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust sites ensuring all layers are updated according to latest information. This will include as built drawings, health and safety plans and fire strategy and compartment plans.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be flexible in their approach which can manage changing situations.

Core functions will include:

Perform work activities which are complex and/or non-routine. Provide CAD technical support and data collection when requested. Report to the Estates Capital Programme Manager working closely alongside colleagues within the Capital Development Team and colleagues across the Trust. Responsible for maintaining building database using industry standard CAD software and record management systems. Able to undertake assisted and unassisted detailed measured surveys across the Trust in order to survey physical assets and record space utilisation data. Update and maintain accurate records of the organisations estate to provide accurate space allocation and utilisation data to support strategic capital planning. Provide space utilisation proposals. Works to include internal and external signage proposals in line with Trust standards and DOT guidance. Works to include maintaining Trust approved furniture standards guidance. May be required to project manage furniture installations associated with projects working closely with internal and external PM's The post holder must have knowledge of BIM technologies and methodologies suitable to support expansion into the wider organisation

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

Recognised degree level CAD qualification or equivalent. Demonstrable experience in CAD/Architecture. Knowledge in undertaking surveys for building layouts and site information drawings. Understanding of DOT signage design guides

Desirable

Working knowledge of the NHS Foundation Trust Knowledge of BIM technologies and space management systems Understanding of building standards such as fire regulations building control regulations Knowledge of healthcare guidance such as HTM's and HBN's.

Experience

Essential

Significant experience in design using AutoCad software. Ability to carry out physical architectural and building services surveys. Ability to interpret technical detail.

Desirable

Experience of working with the general public Experience as a lead CAD Technician

Skills and Competencies

Essential

Ability to gather data and transcribe to space management Ability to manage small installation projects such as furniture installations Ability to work in a variety of environments including high secure patient environments under supervision. Ability to work independently and part of a team to achieve work objectives

Desirable

Ability to multi-task and think creatively to reach solutions. Confident and professional manner whilst working with people at all levels both internal and external to the organisation
