Location: South Shields

Salary: £75 - £100 per day

Contract: Full Time

GSL Education are seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools South Shields .

Job Summary: Graduate Teaching Assistants in secondary settings provide crucial academic support under the supervision of subject teachers, facilitating learning and personal development in older students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom activities and help manage student behavior.
  • Provide targeted assistance to students during lessons.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the setting up of equipment.
  • Help students understand lesson content and complete assignments.

Requirements:

  • A university degree, preferably in a subject taught at secondary level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with teenagers.
  • Proactive and eager to contribute to student learning.
  • Ability to work well under the guidance of a lead teacher.

Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must satisfy all background checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
