Peripatetic teaching role travelling between schools in & around the Milton Keynes area

iRock School of Music teaches 1000s of primary school children every week. We believe every child deserves a brighter future and our amazing rock & pop lessons develop social skills and boost confidence, by engaging with music in a fun way.

Full Time Hours: Monday - Friday
Salary: £24,000 pa increasing to £26,000 pa on the 1st of November
Plus monthly fuel contributions
Holiday: 10 weeks fully paid school holidays

Job Role

Experience first-hand how music can have a positive impact on young people. Part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will be equipped with all of the instruments, you will visit a maximum of 2 schools per day. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude, no teaching experience needed. If you think your next career move is with iRock we would love to hear from you

The Role

  • Deliver rock and pop band sessions to groups of children in up to 10 primary schools per week
  • Teach young people aged 4-11 how to play drums, keyboard, guitar or vocals 
  • Build strong relationships with parents and schools
  • Help pupils deliver their first live performances in front of an audience
  • Small number of administrative duties (30 minutes per day)
  • Working to the RSL structure providing Rock School certificates to our students
  • Be part of a team running band camps at the beginning of the summer holiday

Requirements

  • Be able to play Drums, Keyboard, Guitar and Vocals 
  • Have a good all-round musical knowledge
  • Hold a valid driving licence and access to own car (essential)
  • Strong organisation and IT skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise own workload
  • Be a confident individual who is passionate about music
  • Be able to build positive relationships with adults and children
