The project:
This is an exciting opportunity as we are growing our design team within the South to service the ‘Consult’ engine in our Winchester office as well as our partnership with Hampshire County Council.
The role will be based out of our Winchester office and the successful candidate will work alongside senior architects and a multi-disciplined design team on the development of feasibility studies under our Technical Advisors (TA) role for the Department for Education as well as several key appointments for Local Authorities. Our multidisciplinary design team sits as part of Mace’s consultancy technical services and includes architects, engineers, urban designers, master planners and interior designers.

Mace offers the ability for staff to work more flexibly, with candidates allowed to work remotely, with the requirement to visit the Winchester office at least 3 times a week (5 days recommended for Part 1’s) and with some site and client visits.
The position will be a 12-month contract.

The successful candidate will be supporting the delivery of feasibility studies at RIBA stages 1-3 and the assisting with technical reviews of schemes through later RIBA stages.
As such, a key requirement for this role is the willingness to learn. Day to day tasks will include assisting with the preparation of drawings, schedules, graphics, technical reports and client and design team meetings.
You’ll be responsible for:
Contributing to delivering delegated elements of the developing design as per contract requirements.
Ensures training is kept up to date gaining a clear understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
Develops working relationships with (range of) internal stakeholders.
Works with team members providing operational delivery of team strategy.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
A positive, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude.
Strong communication skills.
Be a team player to work effectively as part of a wider team.
Proficiency using AutoCAD / Revit along with the Adobe Creative Suite.
A good architectural degree.
