Sous Chef

Youll be busy all year round, helping the team provide the personalised service for which Peppers is renowned.

Do you thrive in the kitchen? We are seeking a Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef and share their creative flair with our Kitchen Team. The role is located in Tekapo, and is a full time and permanent position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The hourly pay rate for the role is between $30-$31 per hour. 

As our next Sous Chef reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will:
Manage your own section ensuring a smooth service delivery as well as assisting with other sections as required
You will ensure food costs are kept to within the budget along with managing labour costs
Ensure high quality and presentation of food provided to guests, according to property standards and timeframes of service
Maintain a safe clean and organised work environment with emphasis on high food safety standards 

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
1. You will hold a relevant qualification that is comparable to a level 4 or higher qualification, which includes the credit and knowledge requirements of a New Zealand Certificate in Cookery
2. You will also have at least 3 years of relevant work experience at reputable or comparable establishments
