Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Barnet Inpatient and Stroke Services as a Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist and team lead role, working other MDT therapists (occupational therapist, physiotherapist, dietitians, speech and language therapists, rehab support workers), doctors, nursing colleagues and students, integrated care partners (GP's, practice nurses, social services, mental health, voluntary sector). This post will have a lead role to develop the occupational therapy practice and deliver evidence based Inpatient Rehabilitation, enabling people returning home following initial treatment in acute units serving the Barnet locality. The Inpatient team works as part of the wider Planned Care and Specialist CLCH Services, advocating and providing onwards referrals into the health and social services
Main duties of the job
Proactively monitor and anticipate the changing needs of the patients, coordinating their care across health and social care system, and attend MDT meetings. Plan, implement, and review establishing patient centered goals, personalised specialised programs of health interventions that are preventative, self-managing, and supportive for these patients. This should also encompass crisis plan management for patients and carers where needed. The role includes in- reaching and triaging acute referrals, coordinating the ward audits, team capacity, working on service development projects with the wide North Central London Integrated Care system, coordinating students and new recruits.

To manage and prioritise own complex clinical caseload and other responsibilities independently demonstrating a flexible approach to the needs of the service To co-ordinate the day-today operations of the team, appropriate staffing levels and voluntary carers to assist in the delivery of treatments / programmes / groups To organise and co-ordinate multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences and interventions in order to provide a comprehensive and seamless service for all clients To undertake any other appropriate additional duties as required by the Clinical Lead/ Matron.Please refer to Job description and personal Specification for outline of skills, knowledge and experience required.

oDiploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy oCurrent HCPC registration oUp to date CPD portfolio with evidence of CPD relevant to the treatment of adults with disabilities.

oMembership of BAOT oMember of RCOT specialist section(s) of RCOT oTraining in appraisal/supervision oPost graduate qualification in specialist area at a masters or equivalent level in specialist field-
