Oxford is the Principal Treatment Centre for Children, Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer who live in the Thames Valley Region. It is supported by a POSCU network comprising of Great Western Hospital, Bucks (High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville), Royal Berkshire Hospital, Milton Keynes and Wexham Park. Kamrans Ward is a bedded inpatient ward, with a dedicated daycare space based within the Children’s Hospital at the John Radcliffe Site.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the solid tumour core team, acting as a key worker . They will have oversight of all patients diagnosed with solid tumours (excluding brain tumours) to co-ordinate their care with POSCU colleagues as well as external services at supra centres (photon and proton beam therapy, liver and retinoblastoma services). The post holder will provide clinical support and continuity of care to children and support families from diagnosis as part of an multi-disciplinary team and support transitioning patients into the aftercare service.
