GEOSPATIAL ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Geospatial Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Nottinghamshire area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
As a Geospatial Engineer, you will be responsible for capturing and processing geospatial data.
You will:
Establish engineering control and perform data capture activities using geospatial, GNSS and traditional methods. Be responsible as a Remote Pilot for any UAS operation under your control, ensuring the operation is undertaken safely and in accordance with statuary compliance standards. Assist in operational maintenance and conducting regular inspections on the geospatial equipment. Complete diary sheets along with any photographic evidence as required. Undertake material reconciliations using DTM software. Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated. Carry out as-built surveys on complete works and drawings. Produce D and D site drawings. Assist in maintaining quality records for data capture, ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with the client’s specifications. Assist in basic planning, monitoring and programming. Assist in mentoring junior and graduate engineers as required. Identify/assist in introducing new process, techniques and innovations. Ensure all company property under your control is taken care of and stored securely when not in use. Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.About You:
Competency Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret data and drawings. Confident with Standard geospatial data capture techniques and ability to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS preferred. Flexible attitude to work. Problem solving skills. Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.Technical/Professional Qualifications:
A working knowledge of one functional area through job experience or training. SMSTS. Relevant CSCS card. Likely to have previous relevant business experience or transferable skills gained in other areas. A Level/Higher or Equivalent. General Visual Certification for UAS operationsYou will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
