ABOUT THE POSITION
In this role you will be involved with all aspects of food preparation and delivery, where your involvement will develop as you progress through your apprenticeship. You will also learn and develop valuable customer service skills as you gain experience working within the hospitality and catering environment.
You will commence a 3-year programme which allow you to undertake your SVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery (Preparation and Cookery) qualification, as well as taking part in master classes and additional training and development opportunities which will allow you to become a fully trained Chef.
As a Fresh Olive Chef, you will experience hands on and real-life experiences of working.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Assist with the preparation of food in any area of the Wilde Thyme/Entier business (this will develop as you progress throughout your apprenticeship). Assist with deliveries as required and be aware of stock rotation and incoming product record sheet. Working from Comrie central processing unit and also working with Wilde Thyme lead Chefs in various heritage private and corporate sites throughout Scotland. Support with all areas in a professional kitchen. Have the opportunity to work with Scotland’s world class larder and assist with all menu preparation for events. Gain an understanding of the importance of food safety systems and how to follow company procedures. Gain an in depth understanding of Wilde Thyme/Entier policies and procedures ensuring safety practices are adhered to at all times.
