Our haematology out-patient unit provides a wide range of services including clinic consultations, a day unit for Chemotherapy and Ambulatory care, and inpatient haematology units ensuring high quality care for all patients receiving anti-cancer treatment, as well as those patients with non-malignant conditions.

We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic, reliable and flexible, to become a part of our dynamic and welcoming Phlebotomy Department. Previous experience in leadership roles, extensive knowledge of adult venepuncture, and exceptional communication skills are essential, along with a solid commitment to teamwork in order to thrive in our phlebotomy team that supports the haematology clinic.

Main duties of the job

Candidates will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy team, creating rotas, performing audits and performance reviews of the team members. The role will consist of working a total of hours per week, on Monday to Friday hours per day.

Essential

oNVQ level 3 Care or equivalent experience oAdult phlebotomy training oNumeracy, and spoken and written English, to an appropriate standard to fulfil the job requirements (Adult Basic Skills Literacy L2, Numeracy L1)

Experience

Essential

oSignificant phlebotomy skill/experience within the adult acute care setting. oExperience of leading/coordinating a team. oExperience of managing fast-paced turnover of patient caseload. oAbility to organise own and others workloads as an effective coordinator. oExperience of working independently and as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team
