Are you an experienced and skilled Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner seeking a rewarding opportunity to work with a leading healthcare agency? We are looking for a dedicated Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner with specialised experience in orthopaedic surgery to join our team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in providing high-quality care to patients and ensuring a safe, sterile environment in the operating theatre.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN/RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with orthopaedic experience
- Valid registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) or HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council)
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a Scrub role, with expertise in major orthopaedic procedures
- Strong knowledge of orthopaedic surgical protocols, sterile techniques, and specialised equipment
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating theatre specifically for major orthopaedic procedures, ensuring all required equipment and orthopaedic instruments are ready and sterile
- Provide expert assistance to surgeons during complex orthopaedic surgeries, including passing instruments and handling specific orthopaedic tools
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment tailored to orthopaedic care
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful surgical outcomes
- Mentor and guide junior staff, sharing specialized orthopaedic knowledge and expertise
