Job Description

Warehouse Supervisor

Permanent / Full Time

Working hours - Monday to Thursday (8am-5pm) Friday (7am-3pm).

Reports to - Warehouse Manager

Salary - Starting salary commensurate with experience

Location - This role will be based at Rasharkin, Co. Antrim.

Due to continued growth Woodland are delighted to launch a new role of Warehouse Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing all warehousing and logistics operations including stock control.

About The Role

Job Purpose:

  • Support the Warehouse Manager by acting as first point of contact for line employees and all line queries.

  • Proactively organise and oversee the workflow of the Warehouse, ensuring maximum efficiency.

  • Help support and motivate the team to ensure they are meeting their set goals and objectives.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.

  • Operate a forklift and hold valid counterbalance licence.

  • Input, retrieve and analyse data.

  • Lead a small team of warehouse operatives

  • Organise, facilitate and manage stock takes at regular intervals

  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.

  • Organisational, analytical and problem solving with responsibility for driving Standard Work and ensuring quality processes are implemented.

  • Organise workflow and people resources to meet specifications and deadlines

  • Communicate effectively to management and employees.

  • Liaise with other department managers to ensure production and despatch is on target.

  • Report any employee absences or lateness to the Warehouse Manager

  • Motivate and enhance performance through training, cross skilling and communication.

  • Ensure all accidents and near misses within your area are investigated to identify root cause and implement countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Report all maintenance to management and continue to follow up until complete.

  • Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations to management to support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at developing a lean culture, minimising cost, and maximising productivity to ensure quality and on time delivery.

  • Ensure all members of the team adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.

  • Deliver compliance and best practice in the key areas of people management, quality management and health & safety, ensuring all ISO standards are followed and maintained.

  • Seeking to achieve right first-time quality, identifying root cause of production mistakes and feed back to other departments to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Responsible for full security of department premises, including full key holder duties.

Desired Criteria

  • Experience of working within Epicor ERP

Required Criteria

  • Proven work experience in a warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data
  • Experience in workplace transport and road haulage transport.
  • Counterbalance license - This will be a hands on role
