Job Summary

Refining Process Technician
Location: St Austell, with travel to local Imerys sites
Salary: Up to £34,170.93 dependant on experience
Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, working Monday to Friday 7am – 3pm

You’ll be supporting the Goverseth and Melbur Refinery Manager, by carrying out process equipment checks and working on process and production projects.


The more common activities include, but are not limited to:
● Work on projects, process modifications and continuous improvement as required.
● Participate in project discussions on feasibility, timescales and resources required.
● Carry out experiments in a laboratory, pilot or at production plant scale.
● Compile results in a precise manner and ensure that experiments are carried out with due
care to ensure all foreseeable errors are minimised.
● Write brief reports summarising work programmes and contribute to technical meetings as
required.
● Travel to support process work at various Imerys sites.

What we are looking for:
As well as having previous Process Engineering experience within a heavy industry or engineering
environment, you’ll also need to:
● Have an A Level, or equivalent, in Science or Engineering
● Be able to legally drive in the UK, with use of a vehicle.
● Have experience within a production plant and chemical/lab environment.
● Have good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
● Be able to cope with change and work on own initiative.
● Be an excellent communicator.
