About the Role
The role will involve gardening and grounds maintenance throughout the city involving parks, open spaces and the garden assistance scheme. In addition to the role, the successful candidate will provide a range of gardening, grounds maintenance, refuse, recycling and cleansing duties throughout the City in order to maintain the environment, buildings and facilities which make Nottingham the cleanest city. The post holder will operate flexibly across a range of frontline services depending on service needs. This will include grounds maintenance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Full driving licence, important for driving work vehicles and future employment with NCC after placement. An interest in gardening and grounds maintenance and / or desire to learn about horticulture. A desire to work at various destinations across the city. Ideally experience working in a team and desire to work outdoors. Demonstrate interest in learning new skills and receiving training and in using placement as a springboard to further employment. Demonstrate desire to engage with the public, and an interest in working in public service. Ability to follow verbal and written direction or instruction. Ability or desire to use hand tools and machinery. Ability to walk distances whilst working and be on their feet for the majority of the working day.You can find the job description for this post
