Job summary

By the nature of the duties, the Ward Clerk will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

The Ward Clerk is responsible to the Admin Manager in providing an efficient clerical service across the wards

For accountability and development purposes, the Ward Clerk will be under the direct responsibility of the Admin Manager.

The Welsh language requirements for this post are essential.

Qualifications and/or knowledge

Essential

Able to demonstrate English and Mathematics to GCSE C Grade or equivalent level Welsh Speaking (at least Level 3)

Desirable

NVQ 2 Admin/Customer Care ECDL

Experience

Essential

Working with the public/busy environment

Desirable

General experience of administration functions WPAS User Previous Experience working within the health care sector

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential

Able to use electronic information systems Able to contribute constructively to a team working environment Ability to use own initiative whilst understanding the need to seek advice from senior staff where necessary

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Knowledge of Data Protection
