Job summary

Southport and Formby Hospital thisincludes adults accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range ofmedical and surgical specialities.

There is also an outpatientsservice. The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospitalprovides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, NorthWales and the Isle of Man.

The hospital, which replaced theSouthport General Infirmary and the Southport Promenade Hospital, opened inSeptember 1988.

Main duties of the job

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

To perform and analyse diagnostic hearingassessments on adults and children over the age of 36 months.

Examination of the pinna, external auditorycanal and tympanic membrane to identify normal and healthy features usingotoscopy.

Recognizing contraindications to performingfurther procedures and appropriate referral to ENT, Dressing Clinic, GP,Treatment Rooms and Radiology.

Provides day to day supervision of more juniorstaff (, Associate or Assistant Audiologists, and less experiencedAudiologists)

To be successful in applying for this role you will need: BSc Audiology Degree or equivalent RCCP Registered or if newly qualified working towards registration Relevant experience at working at Band 5 level Evidence of clinical competence
