I was hoping to catch you over the phone, but wanted to make sure I send this over as soon as possible, if you are free for a call?  

Staffing updates:
1. This morning Jess has received a reference request for Suzanne Hanbury, I’ve tried to call her but she’s not answering – I’m concerned she may not turn up next week- I will keep trying but wanted to alert you to this as soon as possible (Learning Support).

2. Jodie Grew has emailed today saying she’s returning to uni to do a Masters – I’ve tried to call her to say this is very last minute and it’s frustrating as I spoke to her only last week, but no answer (LDC).

3. Mia Bussey has accepted a role with Social Services as a Family Support Officer and due to start mid- Sept. She’s said she can return to St Julians until then and said you were aware she was interviewing elsewhere (not sure if this is accurate) - (Learning Support).

Obviously I’m aware this isn’t ideal and it’s super last minute and I can only apologise. I’m also frustrated about the situation.

Suggestions:

  1. Replacement for Suzanne – options below.
  2. Replacement for Jodie - Could Sarah Lockyer go full-time and we find someone else for week to week sickness? – Lauren below would be happy to do week to week in LDC
  3. Replacement for Mia - she will return for a few weeks to give us time to find a suitable replacement. Please see profiles below, or I can find others over the next week.

Ellie: (Happy to do Learning Support or Cover Supervisor)

  • SEN experience – Autism, Asperges, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and mental health.
  • Worked as a Carer for vulnerable adults.
  • Experience in the 3rd most challenging residential home in Newport.
  • Been working as a 999 call handler for the ambulance service.
  • LLB Bachelors of Law and Criminology Degree.
  • Training courses – First Aid, Restraint training.
  • Available full-time as of September.

Georgina: (Happy to do Learning Support or Cover Supervisor)

  • PCET PGCE qualified – Sociology specialism – worked supply in secondary schools.
  • Experience at Olchfa School – Curriculum Resource Assistant, General Cover and Admin.
  • Completed her teachers training at NPTC (Neath Port Talbot College) – can teach up to A-level.
  • Has worked closely with pupils resitting their GCSE’s.
  • Team Teach, Managing Behaviour and Prevent Awareness trained.
  • PRU experience – excellent with behaviour management.
  • Available full-time as of September.

 

Lauren: (LDC week to week sickness cover?)

  • Qualified in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health.
  • Extensive experience with SEN, ALN, Autism and ADHD within care work.
  • Worked as a Support Worker for children and adults.
  • Specialised training in Autism – how Autism affects the brain, warning signs and triggers.  
  • Seeking full-time role as of September – would like to work within the LDC – could she be an option for the week to week sickness?



Jacqui (I know she’s not ideal, but she knows the school – would she be any help just for a couple of weeks until we source a stronger option)

  • Most recently worked in Croesyceiliog Comprehensive as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experienced assisting pupils across KS3 and KS4.
  • SEN experience – Autism/ ADHD/ Behavioural Needs.
  • Worked at St Julians Comprehensive within Learning Support April – December 2023.
  • Previously worked in Lliswerry High School.
  • Available full-time as of 6th September 2024.
