Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job summary

Newly qualified Diagnostic Radiographer

The Norfolk and Waveney (N&W) Integrated Care System (ICS) will see a rapid expansion of Imaging capacity in 2024 and 2025 due to our development of Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). The three acute N&W hospital sites (JPUH, QEH NNUH) provide patient diagnostic services for over million people in the county of Norfolk and beyond. The CDCs are due to open at all 3 sites across 2024 and 2025. Dedicated to outpatient pathways they will house state of the art MRI, CT, Ultrasound and projection radiology equipment.

We need highly motivated newly registered Radiographers that are keen to develop and be part of the future imaging workforce.

You will rotate through the acute hospital into all General Modality areas including the Emergency department, in-patients, outpatients, theatres and mobiles, as well as the dedicated outpatient CDC setting that is near to the main hospital site. You will be contributing to a 24/7 roster with enhancements for duties worked out of hours that boost your salary. Shifts consist of long and short days over a 7 day period, including bank holidays, nights and weekends.

Main duties of the job

As a Diagnostic Radiographer you are a vital part of many patient pathways and key to ensuring patients receive compassionate care while supporting a timely diagnosis. Whether you are providing highly skilled image acquisition or undertaking advanced clinical tasks it is a role that makes a difference.

As a newly qualified radiographer you can be assured you will be supported and developed in your role. All newly qualified radiographers complete a preceptorship programme and are supported by the senior team, mentors and practice educators.

The significant growth in capacity provided by the CDCs will also bring many opportunities for further training and development of your skills, so when we have supported you to transition from student to confident qualified Radiographer we want you to find the next stage of your career with us too.

So, if you want to start your career with us, we want to meet you.

As well as the James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) there will be vacancies at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and Norfolk Norwich University Trust. All NHS Trusts are based within the Norfolk and Waveney ICS.

Interviews will be held via MS teams and there will be a representative from each Trust on the panel.
