Teaching Personnel are working with one of our partner secondary schools who are seeking to appoint a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Food with the ability to teach KS3 Design Technology to motivate and inspire our pupils. The successful candidate will be creative, a strong role model and an advocate for our students.
You will help to shape and develop how Design Technology is taught across all key stages, playing an integral role in their growth within the Art, Design & Technology faculty. The successful candidate will be a model of professionalism, a dynamic team player and an outstanding practitioner in their own right.
The Design and Technology curriculum has been designed to engage, inspire and challenge students at key stage 3 and 4, offering opportunities to undertake courses in Construction, Food and Cookery, and Graphic Communication.
High quality teaching and high expectations are at the heart of this school and all teachers will be expected to develop exemplary practice which supports the ethos, values and vision, and contributes to the overall life and work of the Academy. Teachers will also be expected to promote and develop social, moral and physical aptitudes in their pupils and to provide advice and guidance where necessary.
The successful candidate will
- Great passion for your subject with the ability to deliver creative and inspiring lessons and continue to raise teaching standards within ADT
- Be a highly motivated individual and an enthusiastic teacher with the desire to inspire students to achieve, succeed and exceed in their learning of Art and Design.
- Have experience teaching Design Technology across Key Stage 3 and KS4 Food Technology and KS4 Design Technology or vocational qualifications.
- The enthusiasm and energy required to work with the children and young people in the school
- Be able to support a programme of enrichment activities in conjunction with other staff.
- Organise regular opportunities for students both within the academy and in the local community.
- Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback
- An unwavering belief in the power of education to change lives
