Role: HGV Driver Trainer

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30AM to 5PM

Salary: £35,000 per annum.

Location: Weston-Super-Mare

Our client is a well established company in Weston-Super-Mare who works in partnership with North Somerset Council to provide recycling solutions across the area.

We are currently seeking a Commercial Driver Trainer/Instructor to join our team in our clients Driver Training Academy.

What you'll be doing:

As part of our clients Driver Training Academy, you will be responsible for undertaking training courses with both our clients, commercial customers and in-house loaders/drivers on various pieces of plant vehicles i.e. HGV lorries and also within a classroom situation when required in order to cover our clients course portfolio.

Training includes LGV Driver Training Cat C and CE, all aspects of Plant and Mechanical handling training and Driver CPC periodic training. As our clients academy is in the process of expanding, we would also require expertise in writing training courses within the industry so that they are able to service customers' needs as and when required, across all aspects of logistics training.

This role may from time to time also entail training of our clients current team of loaders/drivers to ensure NSEC are fully compliant i.e. annual assessments, vehicle inductions and toolbox talks. You will be expected to represent The Driver Training Academy when out and about in a professional manner at all times in order to promote our Academy. CPD is important to us so upskilling opportunities will be available as the business grows.

We are looking for a team member who is multi-skilled in the logistics training industry.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • LGV CE full licence and held over 3 years
  • Experience in training candidates up to DVSA test standard in all categories of LGV.
  • DVSA test route knowledge.
  • ITSSAR/AITT instructor qualification for MHE
  • Instructor qualification i.e. PTLLS.
  • Competence in teaching Driver CPC courses
  • Ability to participate in the writing of new course material.
  • Knowledge of the logistics training industry
  • Excellent management of own time
  • Computer skills
  • PCV full licence
  • ADR instructor
