Job summary

To provide business support, leadership and general office management to deliver a high quality, comprehensive Outpatient Booking service.

Responsible for own workload which will include personnel administration, overseeing maintenance of building(s) and dealing with visitors to the department and patients via the telephone and work with the Multi-disciplinary teams. Will be required to supervise and allocate work to staff in lower bands.

The post holder will be responsible for aspects of administration and shared decision making, escalating issues to the Department Lead/or Service Manager as necessary.

The Outpatients Department has an opportunity for a Team Leader within the busy Clinical Management Centre. This will be working alongside another Team Leader and the Senior Team Leader. This role will be based at Devonshire House, Riverside Road, Barnstaple. The Team Leader role is to be responsible for the pastoral care of the diverse team, alongside, day to day operational support, guidance and instructions to ensure the demands of the service are met.

We are looking for a friendly, organised person who will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with a large team, excellent communication skills, and the ability to be able to work independently and on their own initiative.

Working Pattern: hours per week. Can be flexible on the basis of a minimum of 3 days in the week, finishing at 17:00. Our hours of work are 8:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
