Job summary
UCLH is pleased to offer a motivated and enthusiastic individual an exciting opportunity to join the Neuro-Ophthalmology team at NHNN, as an ophthalmic technician.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting the clinical team in an out-patient setting, working independently but as an integral part of the team.
Main duties of the job
The majority of the post holder's time will be spent providing support in the delivery of a clinical service however the post holder will also be required to provide administrative support to the Departmental Office staff as and when necessary.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
oGood basic education oNVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent experience
Desirable
oCare certificate - will need to be undertaken if candidate does not already have this qualification.

Skills and Abilities
Essential
oPreferably 1 year in acute setting oAbility to perform visual acuity tests, tonometry, imaging and visual field tests or willingness to undertake training oEPIC experience or willingness to learn. oBasic IT skills in order to provide support to administrative aspect of service delivery.

oCommunicate with the sensory impaired in a sensitive and appropriate manner oCo-operate and communication clearly and professionally with all members of the multidisciplinary team and public/patients to facilitate effective provision of care and treatment.-
