You will provide exceptional support to students with special educational needs, guiding them to reach their full potential through personalised and heartfelt care.
About the role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing personalised assistance to help them thrive in their learning environment.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents to aid in their development.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping students overcome learning barriers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and collaborate with colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic classroom setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
- Understanding of various SEN conditions.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
