Overview:

We arelooking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. You willuse various methods to import raw data into Azure Cloud. You willanalyze data and create rules for the ETL process. The importprocess will also include identifying the business rules and applythem to the files stored in staging area before moving the files toprocessed area.

The ideal candidate will have astrong background in data engineering along with expertise in cloudcomputing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a keyrole in modernizing our technology stack and driving ourorganizations digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional businessteams to understand requirements analyze and organize raw dataimport by identifying the ETL rules.
  • Identifyand apply transformation rules for legacy data migration frommainframe systems to the Azure cloud platform.
  • Develop and implement data pipelines ETL processes anddata integration solutions to facilitate the conversion ofdata.
  • Develop and maintain documentation bestpractices and standards for data engineering processes andprocedures.
  • Provide technical leadership andmentorship to team members guiding them in best practices for dataengineering and cloud migration projects.
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality andreliability.

Requirementsand Skills

1. **Data Modeling andDatabase Design:**

Proficiency in designing andimplementing relational and nonrelational databases.

Knowledge of data modeling techniques andtools.

2. **Azure Data Services:**

Deep understanding and handson experience with Azure dataservices such as Azure SQL Database Azure Cosmos DB Azure Data LakeStorage Azure Blob Storage etc.

3. **ETL(Extract Transform Load) Processes:**

Expertisein designing and implementing ETL processes using tools like AzureData Factory or Azure Databricks.

Knowledge ofdata integration and transformation techniques.

4. **SQL and TSQL:**

Proficient inwriting complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

Familiarity with TransactSQL (TSQL) for managing andquerying SQL Server databases.

5. **DataSecurity and Compliance:**

Knowledge of datasecurity best practices and experience implementing securitymeasures for data storage and processing on Azure.

Awareness of compliance requirements and ability toimplement solutions that adhere to NC DPI and DITregulations.

6. **Data Monitoring andOptimization:**

Ability to set up monitoringand logging for data pipelines and databases.

Skills in optimizing data storage and processing for performanceand costeffectiveness.

7. **Scripting andAutomation:**

Proficiency in scriptinglanguages like Python or PowerShell for automating data engineeringtasks.

Knowledge of Azure Resource Manager(ARM) templates for infrastructure as code.

Additionally obtaining relevant certifications such as theMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate can furthervalidate and enhance these skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering or arelated field
  • Proven experience as a dataengineer with a strong focus on data migration ETL and dataintegration.
  • Handson experience with datawarehousing concepts database technologies (SQL onAzure)
  • Strong problemsolving skills attentionto detail and the ability to work effectively in a fastpacedenvironment.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelywith crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
