An opportunity has become available and we are looking to employ a self-motivated individual to work as part of the Housekeeping Team at weekends. The successful applicant will be required to prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to in-patients.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high-quality food service to our in-patient ward, maintaining a clean and safe environment in the food preparation area, that assists in ensuring a positive service user experience and reflects the values of the organisation.
To undertake preparation of meals and beverages for patients in line with the CIEH Food Hygiene Regulations, when necessary, ensuring the quality and materials used are of the highest standards, while ensuring correct and economical use of resources under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor and Community Team Lead.
Liaise with clinician, Dietetic service, patients and or their relatives ensuring the patient is provided with appropriate nutrition and hydration compatible to their medical needs ensuring accurate information is communicated with patients and colleagues.
Cleaning of food preparation areas using appropriate and available equipment and colour-coded accessories (e.g. rubber gloves, aprons, cloths etc).

EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
Knowledge of food safey CIEH
Desirable criteria
Previous housekeeping experience (desirable) Experience of working in a team and on own initiative Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate (or similar) or be prepared to work towards Experience of working within NHS (desirable)
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Desirable criteria
Basic secondary school education. Basic literacy and numeracy skills Basic computer Skills or willing to learn
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
Ability to work within a team. Ability to prioritise work. Ability to be part of a flexible duty roster, including weekend work in rotation. Good health. Ability to cope with physical aspects of the post including safe lifting and handling techniques

Good communication skills. Awareness and acceptance of the service users and staff
