Broadstone, United Kingdom Julia's House Full time

Our service is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.  Julia’s House supports more than 140 families across Dorset and Wiltshire, in the community, at our hospices and in our families own homes.  As a Nursing Associate you will have the opportunity to spend time with the children and their families, developing strong relationships and meeting their individual needs. The successful candidate will have experience of caring for children with complex needs. You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team.

Qualification requirements:  Applicants for this role must be a Registered Nursing Associate and have experience of working with sick children. You will be based at our Wiltshire Hospice, but will also work across Wiltshire in the homes of the children we look after.

You will work with a team of Carers, Nurses, Team Nurses, Senior Team Nurses and Lead Nurses in a supportive environment. As a Nursing Associate you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of high quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of the children and young people.  You will have experience in nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based in conjunction with Julia’s House policies and procedures to support delivery of safe care to  children and young people with complex needs that will often change.

If you are passionate about hands on holistic family centred care and are considering a career in a children’s hospice, we will support you by offering opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally.  You will have opportunities to broaden your skills with excellent training and development.

Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights. There are no set hours for contracted staff, our care is provided at the times requested by our families and is therefore variable. Rotas are prepared 6 weeks in advance.

This role is a 35 hours per week permanent contract, we may consider part time but a minimum of 28 hours is required.

A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential; and all positions are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
