As a Fibre opticengineer you will perform your duties on existing and new buildnetworks. This will include internal and externalworks.

Engineerswill carry out their duties in line with engineering specificationsas defined by theclient.


Responsibilitiesandduties

  • Installterminate and test on all fibre optic cable types SM 8 core up to432 core fibrecables.
  • AdvancedFibre optic testingOTDR/ILM/CD/PMD/IOLM/PON
  • Installationof enclosures couplers ODF s andcabinets.
  • Executionand Maintenance/fault finding on new or existing fibre opticinfrastructure.
  • Inconstant communication with the Project Manager to assist withcompletion of fibreworks.
  • Theusage of plant materials care of tools and equipment in a way tominimize unnecessary waste anddamage.
  • Adherenceto all health and safetypractises
  • Ensureto bring sufficient hardware & tools out to site eachday.
  • Ensureall daily reporting fibre characterization and documentation ismailed to the Project Managerdaily.
  • Identifyquality problems and recommend solutions. Report back to ProjectManager any complianceissues.
  • Understandthe Safety & Environmental Policies ensure all activitiescarried out complies with the risk assessment and methodstatements.
  • Ensureadherence to safe working practices at alltimes.
  • Musthave good understanding of the principles of fibre opticnetworks.
