Technical Officer

About the role

We are seeking applications for a Technical Officer within the Animal Health division of
Moredun Scientific (a commercial subsidiary of the Moredun Foundation, a registered
charity). You will join a team of people involved in the conduct of Animal health studies
testing vaccines, therapeutics and other animal health products for use in livestock.

The post will be based at Moredun Scientific, Pentlands Science Park, near Edinburgh.

You will act in the role of Technical Officer for studies appropriate to your experience level
and be involved in laboratory work and live-phase support, you will be expected to develop
areas of expertise and take responsibility for specific work areas.

Occasional weekend and out of hours work will be required, for which additional payment is
made.

Experience required

To be considered for this role, you should have:
• A biological degree or recognised Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Biological
Sciences or a related discipline.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills and effective organisational abilities.

In addition, the following would be advantageous:
• Experience of working in a biological laboratory.
• Experience of working with livestock.
• A good understanding of research quality management systems (eg VICH-GCP, GLP)
• A clean driving licence.
