Working Full time : 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity to join our successful Endoscopy Practitioner team has arisen. You will work out of a purpose-built JAG Accredited Endoscopy unit which opened in . Since inception the unit has had further investment through capital and other funding streams to equip the 5 theatres with the latest technology including Olympus X1 stackers and high-definition scopes.

As part of the Endoscopy Practitioner team, you will undertake 5 scoping sessions per week, 1 clinical session and 2 admin session per week. Your non-working time will be flexible in line with service needs, and agreed in advance with a minimum of 5 weeks notice.

The clinical session will be within the wider Gastroenterology service and full training and ongoing training will be provided for this aspect of the role, where required.

Main duties of the job

As an Endoscopy Practitioner you will independently carry out Upper (OGDs) and / or Lower GI (flexi sigmoidoscopy & colonoscopy) endoscopy procedures and ensure that referral for these scope types are vetted, which will include undertaking assessments for patients electronically.

You will take responsibility and be accountable for the planning and delivery of all aspects of patient care in relation to this specialist area of practice.
