Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby & Burton have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated E-rostering Administrator to join the Trust's busy and dynamic E-rostering Team.

The E-rostering Team are responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Trust's electronic rostering system (Allocate HealthRoster) across all staffing groups. This involves training and supporting staff in the use of HealthRoster, reporting, trouble-shooting, solving queries and more.

The E-rostering Administrator role will provide day-to-day administrative support to the E-rostering Team and end users. Excellent customer service skills, a can-do attitude and the confidence to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels is essential, as are strong IT capabilities and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

The role is fast-paced and varied and requires a passion for problem-solving plus the ability to prioritise own workload as you will be the first point of contact for E-rostering queries coming into the department.

Main duties of the job

Front-line support for E-rostering system users via email, telephone and in person

Ability to liaise with staff at all levels and across all staffing groups

Provide a high standard of administrative support to the E-rostering Project and Team

Use of electronic rostering system across all staffing groups in line with Trust vision

System administration, making calculations and system adjustments, to ensure accurate maintenance of data

Troubleshooting of issues

Previous experience working within the NHS and/or similar environments and use of Allocate HealthRoster are desirable but not essential, as a full training package will be provided

Person Specification

Education, Training and Qualifications

Essential

A good standard of English to GCSE (9-4 or A-C) or equivalent RSA/OCR level III or equivalent knowledge and skills NVQ III in Business and Administration or equivalent knowledge and skills

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge and experience of a range of administrative or secretarial procedures

Desirable

Knowledge and use of rosters and rotas in any format, particularly clinical Knowledge and use of electronic rostering systems, and in particular the Allocate HealthRoster system Previous experience of working in the NHS or a clinical setting

Skills and Ability

Essential

Advanced level of IT to include Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work to deadlines

Communications and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate effectively - including written, face to face and telephone Ability to communicate using judgement, persuasion, negotiation and tact, where necessary
