Role responsibilities


We are currently recruiting for a HSEQ Systems and Standards Manager to develop the safety, environmental and resilience (security) systems and programmes to align management systems working with the Heads of function to create new and agile systems, procedures and programmes.


This role will be the central control responsible for the management, maintenance of the safety, security and environmental management systems.

• To manage and develop the Transport for Wales Safety Management System to ensure compliance with current ROGS requirements, Railway Group Standards, Rail Industry Standards, European Technical Specifications for Interoperability, ATOC Approved Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Legislation.
• To manage, monitor and review compliance to the safety, environment and security management system to ensure continued certification by ORR
• To support and manage the safety, environmental and security data collection, storage and interrogation, to ensure timely statutory recording of incidents and accidents into the industries reporting system for Infrastructure, Train Operations and Fleet services.
• Proactively monitor and develop reporting systems such as close calls, near misses and safety concerns and identify opportunities to improve for escalation.


Who we’re looking for


• Management systems knowledge and experience.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• High degree of inter-personal skills to interact at all levels through positive communication.
• Knowledge of railway operations or a strong passion to develop into.
• Excellent IT skills with use of MS Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Welsh Language Skills


The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
