About the role

This post sits within the ASE Post-Excavation section which includes processors, artefact and environmental specialists, illustrators, archivists, and project managers. Working with experienced pottery specialists, this trainee post will provide structured and supervised training in the specialist area of Roman pottery. The postholder will learn how to identify and record Roman pottery, predominately based on assemblages from south-east and eastern England. Training will be provided in order to equip the postholder with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake the duties of the role. These will be introduced over a period of time dependent on the competencies of the postholder.

About you

The postholder will hold a relevant degree in Archaeology (or related subject) and will have a good working knowledge of British archaeology with a demonstrable interest in Roman pottery. Candidates should be proficient in the use of MS office and demonstrate a methodical working practice with the handling and processing of data. Candidates should be open to training and have a willingness to learn. They should also be committed to UCL's policy of equal opportunity and be able to work as part of a diverse team.
