We are currently recruiting a Software Engineer (DevOps) to join the NAP Acquiring team (New Acquiring Platform) at Worldpay. These positions are London based and aligned to the Worldpay University Program; a two-year scheme, suited to entry level joiners who aspire to develop a successful career with a leading payment company

About the team  

The Worldpay Authorisations team is well established in Development & Testing techniques that are unique to Worldpay’s mission critical card authorization service. It is a small team at the heart of Worldpay’s real-time payments solution, supporting many forms of card transactions in over 40% of the UK high street shops and their equivalent internet based e-Commerce. 

We are a platform that occupies a central position in the UK economy and as such we are the largest card transaction Acquiring authorisation system in the UK and Europe, handling tens of millions of transactions every day and running on high-end fault tolerant hardware and software with an incredible uptime of six 9s. 

We offer a unique opportunity to become an expert in the multifaceted international payments ecosystem. You will have training in specialised software alongside the relevant understanding of the complex business rules dictated by the major Card Schemes, the FCA and Central Banks.


What you will be doing 

•    Develop and automate the solutions to our customer’s needs
•    As a team, plan and review the work to be carried out
•    Deliver fully tested and error free changes in accordance with Card Scheme and Worldpay business rules
•    Fully document technical changes which will be referenced and enhanced in future projects
•    Attend meetings with multi-skilled teams both technical and business


Worldpay has a diverse technical environment with opportunities to work in Java, Scala, Python, front-end technologies (Node.JS), Cassandra; as well as cutting edge cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Azure

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or Software Engineering)
•    Good scripting and ideally some coding skills
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organisation.
•    Positive outlook and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts
•    Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple requests from multiple sources
•    Flexibility to deal with multiple tasks and changing priorities
