Position Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with additional needs. Working closely with classroom teachers and our SENCo, you will assist in creating an inclusive learning environment and help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support students in reaching their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN team to implement IEPs and behaviour management plans.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and adaptation of learning resources to support individual students.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCo.
  • Build positive relationships with students to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Support students with personal care or medical needs if required.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Essential: Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in an educational setting or relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping students with additional needs succeed.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
