IoT Integration Specialist
Are you passionate about bridging the gap between hardware, software, and cloud systems to create seamless IoT ecosystems? Do you thrive on integrating diverse technologies into a cohesive platform where devices communicate efficiently, securely, and in real time? If you’re excited about connecting the dots between smart devices, cloud services, and edge computing, then our client has an exciting opportunity for you. We’re looking for an IoT Integration Specialist (aka The Connector of Smart Worlds) to integrate and manage IoT solutions that drive business value, optimize performance, and enhance connectivity.
As an IoT Integration Specialist at our client, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, working with developers, hardware engineers, and cloud architects to bring IoT systems to life. From connecting devices to cloud platforms to ensuring secure data flow and interoperability, you’ll be at the center of making IoT ecosystems work efficiently across various industries like smart homes, healthcare, and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate IoT Devices with Cloud Platforms:
- Connect IoT devices to cloud services such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT. You’ll manage device-to-cloud communication, ensuring smooth data exchange, remote monitoring, and real-time device control using protocols like MQTT, CoAP, or HTTP.
- Develop and implement solutions that allow diverse IoT devices to work seamlessly together. You’ll ensure that devices from different vendors and with different communication protocols can integrate smoothly within the IoT ecosystem.
- Implement edge computing strategies to process data closer to the devices, reducing latency and bandwidth use. You’ll integrate edge devices with cloud platforms and design systems that handle real-time processing at the edge while managing long-term data storage in the cloud.
- Ensure efficient and secure device connectivity through wireless protocols like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, and cellular networks. You’ll troubleshoot connectivity issues, optimize data flow, and ensure that devices remain responsive and reliable.
- Implement security best practices to protect IoT devices and networks from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks. You’ll secure communication channels and manage encryption, authentication, and access control to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Design and implement APIs that facilitate communication between IoT devices, cloud platforms, and third-party systems. You’ll ensure that APIs are well-documented, scalable, and easy to integrate for developers and end-users.
- Develop tools and dashboards to monitor the health and performance of IoT devices and networks. You’ll ensure that devices are operating optimally, and you’ll troubleshoot any integration or connectivity issues as they arise, ensuring a smooth end-user experience.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- IoT Integration Expertise: Experience in integrating IoT devices with cloud platforms and edge computing systems. You’re skilled in IoT protocols like MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP, and know how to create seamless communication between devices and the cloud.
- API Development and Management: Strong understanding of API design and management, including how to develop APIs for device-cloud communication. You know how to build scalable, secure, and well-documented APIs for integration.
- IoT Connectivity and Wireless Protocols: Expertise in wireless communication technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, and cellular networks. You know how to troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance for IoT devices.
- Security and Compliance: Knowledge of IoT security practices, including encryption, secure device onboarding, and network protection. You’re familiar with compliance regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and NIST and know how to integrate systems that meet security standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, cloud architects, and software developers. You can communicate integration requirements clearly and effectively.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience in IoT systems integration is highly valued.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified IoT Professional (CIoTP), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in IoT integration, with hands-on experience connecting devices to cloud platforms and ensuring system interoperability.
- Proven experience working with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, Bluetooth).
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT) and edge computing systems is highly desirable.
Benefits
- Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with low co-pays and premiums.
- Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation, sick leave, and 20 paid holidays per year.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible work schedules and telecommuting options.
- Professional Development: Opportunities for training, certification reimbursement, and career advancement programs.
- Wellness Programs: Access to wellness programs, including gym memberships, health screenings, and mental health resources.
