Purpose of the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to undertake upkeep and repair tasks for the interior and exterior of New Road. The successful candidate will be relied upon to use their knowledge and skills to keep our facilities in excellent condition.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the general maintenance and repair of club facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. This will involve basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry works.
  • Painting and decorating both internal and exterior surfaces.
  • Carry out routine inspections to identify any maintenance needs and promptly report them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of designated areas, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards, including keeping storage and fire exits clutter free.
  • Support the team in setting up and preparing facilities for various events, including matches and special occasions.
  • Assembling Furniture or equipment
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimise downtime and keep facilities operational.
  • Garden landscape installation and maintenance
  • Footpath and car park maintenance
  • Keeping gutters clear and free of debris
  • Emergency tasks e.g shovelling snow, flood clearance.
  • Supervising contractors that are on site, making sure the adhere to health and safety
  • Specific projects as and when asked by the Facilities Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance is essential.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance techniques and equipment, preferably within a customer focussed environment.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Full, clean driving licence. 

You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Benefits

  • This is a part time role working an average of 24 hours a week over 3 days. There is likely to be a requirement to work more hours during the quieter winter period when most maintenance projects take place, and less hours during the busy Cricket season. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
