Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School in Weymouth. The role involves working in the school's resource base, supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Learning Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educational Support: Assist in the educational and social development of students under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Curriculum Access: Support students in accessing the curriculum effectively.
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to children with SEN.
  • Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Planning and Evaluation: Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals about student progress.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
