Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate clinical pharmacist to join our expanding integrated pharmacy team. You will become part of a unique team in a highly patient focused role.

The post is based at Glan Clwyd Hospital within the Central Integrated Healthcare Community (CIHC) which has undergone an extensive redevelopment programme including a new modern, pharmacy department. The CIHC hosts several specialist regional services such as the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre, North Wales Cardiac Centre and The Sub Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre (SuRNICC).

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an experienced clinical pharmacist, with or able to work towards an independent prescribing qualification. You will be able to work well as part of a ward-based team and across the wider Central IHC, providing leadership and clinical expertise to other pharmacists and technicians within the IHC.

The successful candidate will benefit from working in a transformational department and our aim is that all of our pharmacy team maximise their potential. We actively encourage career progression by offering funded places on the Independent Prescribing Course and Advanced Clinical Practice MSC. Research and development opportunities are also available.

You will be provided with opportunities to develop your skills within a variety of advanced clinical rotations (Coronary Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Quarter, Paediatrics and Neonates, Sterile Production Unit and the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre) during your training.

You will be self-motivated with excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills. The ability to liaise with and influence senior clinical staff, and of the multidisciplinary team and colleagues with various clinical background across all sectors of the Central IHC - including and not limited to primary, community and secondary care is essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
