We are looking for an Advanced Healthcare Assistant to join our Urgent Treatment Centre based in Sevenoaks.
Our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) are staffed by an experienced multidisciplinary team including GP’s, Advanced Nurse and Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Advanced Health Care Assistants and Receptionists.
We see patients with minor to moderate injuries and patients referred by 111.
We operate 7 days a week from 8am-8pm.
Main duties of the job
Our community hospital Healthcare Assistants provide essential care in an in-patient setting. The work you do will be crucial to the running of our hospital and the recovery of our patients.
As a community hospital Healthcare Assistant, you'll:
Work as part of a team to provide care to local patients and families monitor the quality of care they're receiving provide feedback to managers on the quality of care.Your patients could be any age, but they'll often be elderly, while others may have been recently discharged from acute hospital, be terminally ill or have physical disabilities.
As a an Advanced Healthcare Assistantyou will work as part of a team to keep people safe and well during their stay. You will carry out care plans designed to support people and make sure that people who use our services have a good experience.
Additional Working Pattern: service is 7 days a week 0800 - 2000

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ / QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship). Evidence of HCA level wound care course completion. Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Band 3 Advanced Healthcare Assistant / Worker in an Emergency Department / MIU / UTC or other relevant NHS Acute / Urgent unscheduled care setting. Experience of working as part of a team Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster / AT-P / CIS)
Desirable criteria
ECG recording, urinalysis, blood glucose testing experience. Experience / competency in Plaster of Paris application.
KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
Awareness of developments in the NHS and the UTC environment. Evidenced knowledge of up to date UTC clinical practice Understands the role and remit of Unregistered worker in the UTC service.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential criteria
Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) Ability to organise own work Ability to cope with change Ability to use own initiative Moderate IT skills.
