Mid IT Specialist

Job Title : Mid ITSpecialist. Location : Washington DC. Clearance : TopSecret. Job Type: 5 months contract tohire. Summary: This position performs IT support duties and relatedproblem solving using desktop IT support skills demonstrating ITdesktop experience good judgement and initiative. Works well bothas part of a team as well as independently successfully completingtasks while receiving only general guidance on assignments andsolutions. Performs technical work of a professional level usingstandard techniques concepts and procedures. Competent to workindependently on technical assignments and projects meetingdeadlines. Contributes to complex problem solving. Must possessexcellent IT technical skills customer service skills workindependently supporting users and resolving their IT issues whilerepresenting assigned service unit follow directions and beselfmotivated to complete assignments research and applysolutions. Typicalduties include installing maintaining and administering desktopcomputer systems and associated peripherals including printersmonitors switchboxes business application software and variousoperating systems. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Install desktops portable computersperipherals and software products for networked classified andunclassified and standalone environments. Detect diagnose research solutions and resolve desktop and portablecomputer software and hardware failures. Provide users with information guidance and instruction on use ofdesktop and portable computer hardware and software. Analyze and assess customer service requests andprovide prompt technical solutions. ConductIT audits as assigned in compliance with policies governing theadministration utilization and acquisition of desktop and portablecomputer products. Prepare progress/statusreports and submit to team leads as required. Utilize troubleticketing software foropening/updating/closing tickets in a timely and appropriatemanner. Identify and document areas forprocess improvements. Contact andeffectively communicate with users by telephone electroniccommunications or in person. Prepareequipment for reuse or surplus of property actions. Provide technical support for customers assigned toremote locations as required. Performsoftware and hardware upgrades and installations involving multiplecomputers printers multiprinters and peripherals. Coordinate the disassembly and reinstallation of ITequipment in support of office relocations and newbuildings/locations. Ability to lift up to50lbs must be physically able to walk squat bend twist lift crawlunder desks reach out and above head carry items push and pullcarts loaded with equipment. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Required:

• Demonstrated proficiency installing maintaining repairingdesktop operating systems business applications desktop computerhardware peripherals and printers.
• ITCertifications applicable to desktop and mobile computer supportdesired
• Experience providing excellentcustomer service

Required: Bachelors degree in discipline and one year ofexperience or 5 years of equivalent experience TS clearance required. Preferred
