CARDIOTHORACIC REGISTRAR ST3+/Senior Clinical Fellow
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to apply for ST3+ Registrar to work in the Cardiac Surgery Service within University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
This is an opportunity to consolidate clinical skills in a centre with a strong track record of research and training. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated trainee seeking a long-term career in Cardiac Surgery.
The post holder will participate in the effective running of the department with a commitment to the management of patients. We are ambitious and progressive and committed to continuing our quality journey so that we can exceed our patient's expectations.
Glenfield Hospital has increased the number of patients treated, introduced service developments and expanded the range of treatments available. We have also gained an excellent reputation for the quality of service we provide. This has been recognised by the results in the Quality Health Patients' Satisfaction Survey as well as achieving full accreditation by the Health Quality Service (formally known as the King's Fund).
This post will be for a period of 12 months in the first instance, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
Main duties of the job
Specialist Registrar (ST3+) level is 12 months duration (with the possibility of extension) in Cardiac Surgery at Glenfield Hospital. The successful candidate will be supported to meet their own professional-development alongside service needs.
They will work co-operatively with colleagues and peers to provide a quality service at Registrar level within Cardiac Surgery. Candidates should have at least 2 years experience at Registrar level or equivalent and will be expected to work on the Registrar on call rota.
