Opcare have been providing the prostheticand orthotic services in Cambridge since 2002 and have recently been re-awardedthe contract, this role is an excellent opportunity to have a key influencewithin the service to advance and improve the delivery of service.

The department is newly based in a purpose-builtfacility just to the south of Addenbrookes hospital, a world-renowned hospitalfor trauma, cancer and vascular care. The facility has consultant care, amputeerehab and gait lab facilities. There is a complex mix of patients and extendedpractice clinics which provides a great opportunity to be exposed tointeresting and varied caseloads.

There is an on-site workshop withskilled staff providing a collaborative working approach to device design andmanufacture.

Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking an experienced Prosthetist who is looking foran opportunity to develop their career and be a part of our large and dynamicteam in Cambridge.

The role will involve working with a complex clinical case load, it willpresent exciting opportunities to develop clinical skillsets. The role will beinstrumental in working with the prosthetic team, consisting of clinicians,technicians and wider NHS MDT to advance and improve the delivery of theservice.

Essential

Independent and autonomous responsibility for caseload of patients Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of the service Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) Inputting on initiatives within the centre service development plan Ability to treat patients who use MPKs incl. C-legs, Geniums, Rheo Experience with CADCAM rectification techniques Knowledge of high activity prosthetics to treat veteran patients

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, candidates must be fully HCPC registered and have one of the following qualifications: Certified Prosthetist HND Orthotics BSc Prosthetics & Orthotics
